Four arrested for robbing taxis

With the arrest of four persons, police on Monday claimed to have busted a gang which robbed taxis at knife point.
The arrested were identified as Satbir Singh, Rakesh Jha, Narrendra and Pintoo, all residents of Delhi and aged between 27 and 35 years. Police said that they solved a robbery case in which one Shiv Dayal, a resident of Budh Vihar area, was robbed of his cab, Rs 12,000 and mobile phone.
Police said that accused on 3 March booked a cab, owned by Dayal, from Kashmiri Gate to Karnal. On the way, they robbed him at knife point. The gang used the modus operandi to rob others taxis too. ‘Police got information that all the four accused were coming near Khajuri Khas crossing yesterday. Police laid a trap and arrested them,’ said a senior police official.
