Four arrested for burgling factories in Shahdara

Delhi Police on Sunday said they have arrested four persons accused of breaking into factories at night and stealing goods and other valuables.

The accused were found to be involved in five cases of factory burglary in the Shahdara District area. They would go on to sell the stolen goods to scrap dealers.

Police recovered brass nuts and bolts weighing around 20 kg, aluminium wire worth 10 kg and brass taps worth 32 kg.

After receiving a tip-off that the accused would come to R-Block Dilshad Garden near the MTNL office circle, a police team was sent to the spot.

Upon identification, the four were apprehended along with the stolen items. The accused have been identified as Kamran, Dilshad, Saddam and Pappu Alam.

“During interrogation, they revealed that they collect waste material from industrial areas. In the process, they gather information about the location of valuables and security arrangements at factories.

“During the night, they would strike at these factories and later sell the goods to their contacts,” said a senior police official.

Police have identified the scrap dealers who bought the stolen goods and are tracking their whereabouts.
