Foundation stone of DDU College laid at Dwarka

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, on Wednesday,  said no area can progress till it has enough educational institutes. She said technical education was playing a vital role in social and economic development of our nation and today  Delhi has a number of universities imparting higher education in different areas, including technical education.

The chief minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone of Deen Dayal Upadhyay College at Sector 3, Dwarka. Delhi Health and Higher Education Minister A K Walia, west Delhi MP Mahabal Mishra, area MLA Somesh Sokeen, Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University Dinesh Singh, chairman, college governing body, Tom Vadakan, and principal of DDU college S K Garg, were also present on the occasion.

Dikshit said, ‘The world today is more global than it ever was. For the first time in human history, tens of millions of us all over the world are literate in the same language. We all are extremely well-informed by historic standards, thanks to the explosion in education, training, media and travel.

We are able to access the world’s finest and most invigorating ideas, inventions and discoveries, due to the advancements in print, sound, and visual media. We are able to communicate almost everywhere.’
