Former deputy mayor’s bag snatched

Former deputy mayor Dr Anita Babbar was allegedly robbed by unknown assailants in New Delhi district on Thursday. According to police, Babbar hired an auto-rickshaw from Nizamuddin area to go to Tilak Nagar. Mid-way, two bikers attacked her and snatched her bag.
A police official said the incident took place in Sardar Patel Marg area in Chanakyapuri. The auto driver chased the assailants for a distance, but due to traffic, they managed to escape. According to the driver, the robbers went towards south Delhi.
Babbar immediately reported the incident to the local police and a case of robbery was registered. Babbar said she was carrying a lot of cash, two mobile phones, a few debit cards of different banks, her locker keys, along with some other valuables in her bag.
