Foreign criminals taking refuge here be deported back: Court

Delhi has become a safe refuge for ‘criminals from the entire world’, a court here said and directed the city police commissioner to nab those foreigners, who are living in the capital without any valid documents, and deport them back to their countries. The court order came while hearing the bail plea of an Uzbek national Nazokat Madaminova, lodged in jail for running a prostitution racket here involving girls from foreign countries. ‘Delhi has become a safe refuge for criminals from entire world. Laxity on the part of police and other state agencies like Foreigner Regional Registration Offices (FRRO) has facilitated them to operate from here and go scot-free,’ additional sessions judge Rajender Kumar Shastri said.  ‘There is no effective check on the moments of these unsolicited guests, who roam in the capital of the country freely and that under the nose of strong police force. They live here for several years without any valid document and run crime syndicates,’ he said. The court rejected Nazokat’s application saying, ‘Keeping in view the gravity of the offence and prima facie involvement of applicant in crime in question, no reason to enlarge her on bail at this stage.’  Police had arrested Nazokat on a complaint by her cousin sister that she was called from Uzbekistan on the promise of employment in India but was forced into prostitution. The complainant said she came to India in May 2013 and was kept captive in a house at GK-I in south Delhi before she manage to run away from Nazokat’s clutches in September.
