Delhi Police has been directed by a trial court to file an action taken report (ATR) on the complaint against Shiv Sena MP Rajan Vichare for allegedly force-feeding an IRCTC employee who was on fast during Ramzan at Maharashtra Sadan.
However, Metropolitan Magistrate Akash Jain also asked complainant, Kamran Siddiqui, about his interest in the case. ‘What injury has been caused to you? When the alleged victim has not come forward why are you filing this complaint?’ the magistrate asked the complainant.
Siddiqui, while responding to this through his lawyer Vishal Sinha, said that the alleged victim is a contractual employee and he cannot file a complaint in the case. The counsel also told the court that his client is a ‘public spirited’ person and has filed various PILs and complaints on several issues of public interest.
The court has fixed 10 September as next date of hearing while asking police for the ATR. The complainant has sought filing of an FIR against Vichare under various IPC sections including 153 A (promoting enmity between classes), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraining any person) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
