For overtaking Vadra’s car, traffic cops challan driver

Despite finding no consumption of alcohol and finding all documents in place, Delhi traffic police on Thursday challaned an individual who overtook a government vehicle in the Okhla area, which had carried Robert Vadra.

Vadra’s security personnel had informed the traffic department about a case of dangerous driving. Further, the vehicle’s number was flagged to traffic policemen, who spotted the car near Amar Colony.

According to sources in Delhi police, the errant driver has been challaned under the section 184 (driving dangerously) of the Motor Vehicles Act. Senior security personnel have informed top officials in the traffic department about the case of rash driving. Further on Vadra’s instructions, his security personnel have asked traffic cops to thoroughly scan the errant vehicle.

When the traffic cops caught him at the Amar Colony traffic signal, his vehicle was scanned and the driver underwent a breath analysis to know whether the driver consumed alcohol. ‘No suspicious item was found in his car and he was carrying all vehicle documents with him,’ a police official said.
