Foodies’ delight visits Delhi again

If you have been wanting to try different cuisines of India at one go, now is the time. India’s flavours are being dished out at Baba Kharak Singh Marg. Dilli Ke Pakwaan, an event organised by the Delhi Tourism, which saw many a foodie helping themselves to seconds last year, is back again. Transport minister Ramakant Goswami inaugurated this year’s edition of Dilli ke Pakwaan festival at the emporium hub in Baba Kharak Singh Marg on Friday.

The minister praised the endeavours of making this a successful annual event. A colourful souvenir of Dilli Ke Pakwaan, a compact compilation that documents the culinary traditions of the city especially for visitors who are new to the Delhi street food culture, was also released on this occasion.

In keeping with the tradition, Delhi Tourism has brought together the culinary delights of age-old eateries of Purani Dilli out in to the open for everyone to enjoy. The vendors from Purani Dilli will showcase their expertise and create mouth watering dishes catering to diverse platter. From paranthas of Chandni Chowk, hot jalebi, mutton korma, chicken tikka, kabab, special chaat and pakoda to kulfi and ice candy are awaiting to treat the foodie in you.

To add more authenticity to the festival, the organisers have recreated Purani Dilli in the midst of cosmopolitan Delhi. The food stalls celebrate the Mughal-influenced architecture of Chandni Chowk.
