Even after her death in mysterious circumstances, Fiza Mohammed, also known as Anuradha Bali, continues to court controversy. The Mohali Police recovered huge amount of currency notes from her locked house in Sector 48 of Mohali on Thursday.
The police brought in a cash-counting machine to speed up the process of counting the recovered notes. 'The money is being counted. It could be over Rs 1 crore. There is jewellery also,' one police officer said.
Mohammed, who was found dead in her house on Monday morning, was cremated on Tuesday according to Hindu rites by her Hindu relatives. Her post-mortem did not reveal any external injury, doctors had said. She had married the former Haryana deputy chief minister Chander Mohan after conversion to Islam, but Mohan divorced him later.
Her body was found in a decomposed state. The police said that she could have died four to five days back. Maggots and other insects had eaten away portions of her body, including her face.
