‘Fix security glitches in Mandoli jail’

Delhi home minister Satyendra Jain on Monday asked the <g data-gr-id="12">adminstration</g> of newly built <g data-gr-id="13">Mandoli</g> Jail to strengthen its security, in order to make it operational at the earliest. According to officials, Jain today inspected <g data-gr-id="15">Mandoli</g> Jail in east Delhi in a move to make it operational at the earliest and decongest <g data-gr-id="16">over-crowded</g> Tihar Jail. During the <g data-gr-id="40">inspection</g> various security loopholes were highlighted. “The boundary wall of jail is 16 feet <g data-gr-id="39">high</g> but jail authority said that it should be increased to 22 feet. Moreover, watch towers of the jail are at low height. Guard standing at watch towers does not have <g data-gr-id="37">clear</g> view as buildings in the area are taller and obstruct the view,” a senior official said.
