Five-year-old raped in Janakpuri

In yet another horrific incident, a five-year-old girl was raped by an unidentified man in Janakpuri area on Tuesday. The accused is yet to be arrested.
On Tuesday afternoon, the victim, a school student, was playing outside her house in Sagarpur area. Meanwhile, a man who was allegedly unknown to her lured her to buy fruits.
When the girl went near him, he took her to a nearby dispensary where he raped her. The girl raised an alarm but the place was isolated so her screams could not be heard. Before escaping the accused then threatened the girl of dire consequences if she told anyone.
The girl managed to come out of the dispensary and a passerby woman noticed her in bad condition. She then narrated her ordeal to her. The lady took her to the nearby police station. Her family members were informed by the policemen who rushed to the police station after learning about the brutal act against their daughter.
A medical examination has confirmed rape after which a case under appropriate sections of POCSO act has been registered against an unknown person. ‘A man-hunt is on to trace the culprit on the basis of the description given by the girl. Further investigations are underway,’ a police official said.
