Five-year-old molested in Daryaganj

The accused has been identified as Mohammed Ali (40) who used to drop the victim to school every day. He was arrested after the victim reported the incident to her father.
‘On Thursday afternoon, after Ali picked up the victim from her school. While heading home, he stopped midway and took her to an isolated lane. There he allegedly molested the minor girl before he dropped her near her residence,’ said the police official. The victim lives near Jama Masjid and when she saw her father waiting for her outside their lane, she reported the whole incident to him.
The victim’s father nabbed the accused immediately and handed him over to the police. ‘After interrogations, it was found that the accused had allegedly molested other children in the past,’ the officer said.
The accused has been booked under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Meanwhile, the girl was given counselling by experts in presence of her parents.
