Five-year-old alleges rape by her cab driver

A case against the cab driver, identified as Vipin has been registered at Govindpuri police station and he was arrested from his residence in the afternoon, informed police.
The victim who studies in a private school in south Delhi used to go to her school in the cab.
The driver used to pick her first as she resides nearby and drop her at the end. The girl alleged that whenever she was alone in the cab, the accused had assaulted her.
He also tried to rape her once, she claimed.
It has been learnt that the victim was not going to schools for the past 10 days and remained quite in her house.
When repeatedly quizzed by her mother, she unfolded her ordeal to her.
Her parents immediately rushed to the local police station and narrated the incident to the police. A raid was immediately conducted at driver’s residence and he was arrested.
A case under the sections of assault and attempt to rape of IPC and POSCO Act has been registered against him. ‘We are also questioning other parents of the children who used to go in his cab. There is a possibility that he might have assaulted other students as well,’ the official added.
The accused is married with two children.
