The city Bharatiya Janata Party claims that over five lakh people will gather for Gujarat chief minister and the party’s prime ministerial candidate for 2014 general elections Narendra Modi in Japanese Park on 29 September.
The saffron party has formed a committee to look into the preparations of the rally.
‘We will ensure the maximum possible crow besides cleaning and other arrangements in the area for rally,’ said Rajesh Gehlot, a member of the committee headed by former Delhi BJP president Vijender Gupta. The other members of the committee include North DMC mayor Azad Singh, chairman of standing committee in North DMC Ram Kishan Singhal, and local MLA Jai Bhagwan Aggarwal.
The announcement about Modi’s rally was made after a high-level BJP meeting in the first week of September.
Announcing this at the Delhi BJP’s meeting, state unit president Vijay Goel had said, ‘It would give a further boost to BJP’s poll readiness’ and they will launch a door to door campaign for the 29 September rally.
