Five held for heroin smuggling

Five persons, including one who has more than 20 cases pending against him, were arrested for allegedly trafficking narcotics in the national capital, police said on Friday. Mohammad Sami, a resident of Chandani Mahal police station and allegedly involved in dacoity of cash and jewellery worth Rs 05 crores in 1996, and four others have been taken into custody, police said. After their arrest, police recovered from them heroin worth Rs 8 crore in international market.
Based on a specific input, police laid a trap and arrested Akram Khan, Abdul Rehman and Imran Khan when they were trying to traffick the contraband.
The arrested persons are suspected to be part of an interstate drug syndicate operating in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi led by Imran Khan and his brother Taimur who is absconding. Further interrogation led to the arrest of Mohd Sami and Javed Khan. Invesigation have shown Imran Khan and Taimur Khan are the kingpins of the drug syndicate and they prepared heroin at their village Bahera in Bareilly.
