Five die in two separate incidents of road accidents

Three persons piling on one motorbike were killed in a road accident on late Thursday night by an unknown vehicle in South-West Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan area. A case has been registered and the investigation is on.
According to police, the incident took place at around 3 am when the trio, identified as M Sainthal (26), Sami (35) and Suresh (27) were returning to their respective residences in Moti Bagh. At the time of the incident, none of them were wearing helmets. When they reached Dhaula Kuan, a speeding vehicle hit them from behind and the rider lost control. All were mowed by the vehicle. Soon after the accident, the errant driver fled the spot.
The three were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead on arrival. A case under the sections of hit and run has been registered against the unknown driver at Delhi Cantt police station. CCTV footages of the area are being looked into.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem examination has been conducted on the bodies of the trio and later the bodies were handed over to the families.
According to the doctors, all three of them received severe injuries on the head and excessive blood loss was the cause in all the three cases.
In another incident, two persons died while another suffered serious injuries when their scooty was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Outer Delhi’s Alipur area on Thursday night. The deceased have been identified as Ankit and Ravinder while the third injured is yet to be identified.
According to the police, the incident took place near Alipur village when the trio were going to a nearby eatery shop. Their scooty was hit by an unidentified vehicle while they were riding without helmets.
Police said that while returning from the shop, the youth took the service lane along the highway near Alipur village when they were knocked down by a vehicle, probably a truck.
They were found injured by passers-by who rushed them to a nearby hospital.
Ankit and Ravinder were declared dead on arrival, while the third is critical. Police have contacted the family of the deceased to identify the third youth.
