Five dead, two injured in Yamuna E-way accident

Five persons, including two children <g data-gr-id="26">died,</g> while three others were critically injured in a road accident on Yamuna Expressway on Friday. Police said that seven members of a family including two minors and two women were travelling in an i10 Car from Greater Noida to Agra when they met with an accident.
According to police, the incident took place in Mathura region around 10 am, about 90-kilometres away from the zero point on Greater Noida-Agra stretch.
Due to <g data-gr-id="28">overspeed</g>, the driver of the car lost control and hit the divider before turning turtle several times. The impact of the accident was so intense that the car smashed badly and the rescue teams had to take the help of gas cutters and cranes.
Five members, identified as Raju (32), Rekha (30), Mayank (10), Garima (8) and Ravinder (36), died on the spot and the remaining two, identified as Himanshu (33) and <g data-gr-id="27">Deepanshi</g> (14), suffered multiple fractures.
The passers-by called the local police who took them to a nearby hospital. On reaching the <g data-gr-id="23">hospital</g> five were declared brought dead while the survivors were admitted to the ICU. Police said the victims were all are from one family and were residents of <g data-gr-id="21">Shahdra</g>, Delhi.
“We have sent the bodies for post-mortem and have admitted the injured persons to a hospital. We have also informed their family members. As the accident took place in Mathura jurisdiction, Mathura police will look into the matter,” said a senior police official.
