The first ever Chinese film shot in India with Sino-Indian theme is all set to make a debut in China shortly as India showcased some of its recent Bollywood hits at its film festival here in a bid to rediscover the trail left by Raj Kapoor’s ‘Awara’ in 1950s.
The new Chinese film, My Amazing Trip to India, which graphically portrays the travails faced by a Chinese traveller in India, is set to be released all over China in the next few months, Zhang Jian Ya, the director of the film, told the media on the sidelines of the Indian film festival here on Thursday night. According to the director and the producer Zhang Jiajun, who shelled out $2 lakh for shooting the film in India, this is the first ever Chinese film ever shot in India or made with an Indian theme. Most of the shooting of the film, involving four Indian actors including heroine Ridhima, was done in Rajasthan.
