Firearms smuggler from MP nabbed

The Delhi Police Special Cell apprehended an illegal arms peddler and recovered 26 high quality pistols from his possession. The accused, identified as Sarnam Singh, is a resident of MP.

According to senior police officials, in continuation with the recent arrests of several arms peddlers, on Tuesday a team of the Special Cell received information that an inter-state gang involved in supply of illegal pistols to criminals based out of UP, Haryana and Delhi will be coming to deliver a consignment to an intended receiver near Dhaula Kuan. “Singh was seen arriving at the particular location on Ring Road, ahead of Dhaula Kuan, towards Naraina, under the Metro line with his accomplice on a motorcycle. They were seen carrying a jerrican. Singh placed it on a nearby footpath and the team immediately sprang into action and caught him. But his associate managed to slip away. During interrogation, Singh revealed that he and his associate, Pappu, had come to deliver the illegal pistols to Delhi-based resellers. After removing the seal, the jerrican was found having 26 pistols along with spare magazines,” said PS Kushwah, DCP (Special Cell).
