FIR against builder for denying flat to lawyer in Noida

An FIR has been registered against a construction company for allegedly cancelling a flat booked by a lawyer in Noida Sector 119. Dharmendra Jain, a lawyer practicing in Surajpur district court in Greater Noida, said that he was denied possession of the flat because he was a lawyer.
‘I had paid one lakh in advance. But later the company sent me an email that the flat was cancelled because I was a lawyer,’ Jain said. He lodged complaint against the company alleging discrimination on the basis of profession.
However, the company clarified that the email was sent by ‘mistake’. ‘We do not have any discriminatory policy against any person or profession’, said its officer.
