Finally Delhi sees 40 degrees

Intense heat kept Delhi'ites indoors on Sunday with the mercury nearing the 40 degree Celsius mark after days of pleasant and comfortable weather.

The maximum temperature, which was recorded at 39.6 degrees Celsius, was one degree above normal for this time of the season, the Met office said.

It was a hot day for Delhi'ites, who have been witnessing pleasant weather for the past few days, in what could be the most comfortable April in the past several years.

The sun shone bright through the day confining people indoors on the weekend. Today's minimum was recorded at 25.4 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this time of the season.

Humidity was recorded between 44 per cent and 22 per cent, the Met office said.

The weatherman has predicted similar weather conditions for tomorrow as well with the maximum and minimum to be 40 degrees and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
