Filing of nomination papers for Raj polls to begin today

Filing of nomination papers for 200 constituencies in the ensuing assembly polls in Rajasthan will begin tomorrow, an official of the Chief Election Office (CEO) said on Monday.
The process of filing nominations will begin after an election notification to this effect would be released tomorrow morning, an advisor (PR) of the CEO said.
Nomination papers by contestants would be accepted at 200 Returning Offices in 33 districts of the state every day from 11 am to 3 pm, he said.
The last date of filing nomination papers is 12 November, and there will be no nomination work on next Sunday, 10 November. Scrutiny of papers will take place on 13 November, and they can be withdrawn by 16 November.
Congress has declared its first list of 63 candidates so far, while the major opposition BJP and other parties including CPI-M, JD-U, National People’s Party are yet to field their candidates.
Single phase polling in the state is scheduled for 1 December, and the counting of votes will take place on 8 December.
