Federal Front: TDP chief meets Mamata

In an another significant development Telegu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu met Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday to discuss the formation of a Federal Front ahead of the Lok Sabha poll. ‘Discussions are on with different political parties on the formation of the federal front,’ Naidu told reporters after the meeting at the new state secretariat ‘Nabanna’. He claimed, without clarifying the constituents of the Federal Front, that the meeting with her was positive and claimed that the Federal Front will play an important role in the upcoming election.

Banerjee repeatedly had given a call to all non-Congress and non-BJP regional parties to come together and form a Federal Front.

Recently in an appeal to regional parties (without naming them) she had said, ‘Let us stand together. Let us talk together. Let us decide a plan of action for the next Lok Sabha elections. I appeal to all the non-Congress, non-BJP regional parties to launch a united fight to free the country from misrule.’
