Monsoons ring in poetry

It's raining galore in the city of joy. Bratati Parampara and Abrittilok,Kolkata will be presenting an evening of poetry related to the monsoons in Barsha Utsav on July 31 at Shishir Mancha.
Students of Kabyayan from Chinsurah, Shrirampur, Salt Lake, Golf Green and so on besides students of Abrittilok from Kolkata will charm audiences with poetry which celebrates the raindrops.
There will be a special performance of solo recitations by Bratati Bandyopadhyay followed by Surjyabartya directed by noted elocutionist Pranati Tagore. The programme has been conceived by noted elocutionist Soumitra Mitra.
Be it songs, dance or recitation all have adequate treasures to celebrate monsoon. After the hot days of summer we all wait for rains which come up with a fresh feeling of joy in our life. All creative souls got inspired by the season and created some all time hit songs, poems and so on.
The very special attraction would be the audio CD launch of "Jibon-Gaan" by Bratati Bandyopadhyay on Asha Audio. It features poetry revolving around the essence of music and the same will be released by Pandit Ajay Chakraborty in the august presence of Joy Goswami, Lopamudra Mitra, Srijato, Srikanta Acharya, Jayati Chakraborty and so on.
On another stage, a musical, Ekar Sathi featured songs of estrangement, feeling the absence of someone, loneliness that played a key role in many of Tagore's songs. In the songs of loneliness, emotions likes devotion, love, nature all blends together. This musical showcased a journey through recitation, songs and music by Ratna Mitra, Srabani Sen, Joy Sarkar respectively.
Srabani Sen Music Academy presented the musical at G.D.Birla Sabhaghar. Songs like Sahana Gahana Raatri, Kar Milan Chao Birohi, Dure Kothay Dure Dure and at the last surprisingly Srabani rendered a Hindi Ghazal Jhunki Jhunki Si Nazar. Ratna Mitraalso read out poetry by Rabindranath, Srijato and many more.
