KVIC's CP store crosses one-crore sale again

The festival season of October might be over, but for the flagship store of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) at Connaught Place – the festivity seems still continuing. Following the month of Diwali, even on November 17, the CP outlet recorded the single day retail sale of approximately Rs 1.03 crore. And, this is the first ever single day retail sale of over Rs 1 crore in the month of November, in the history of KVIC.

Not to forget, the newly-introduced Modi Jackets and Modi Kurtas appear adding colours to the people – especially for young generation and subsequently raising the sale figures of Khadi India across the nation.

It may be noted that the outlet has recorded a total sale of Rs 14.76 crore in the previous month, with a jump of 35 percent than the sale of Rs 10.95 crore in October last year. Not only that, the flagship KVIC store has also made a record in daily sale in October, by reaching Rs 1 crore mark thrice. While on October 2 – the sale was recorded Rs 1.06 crore, it was Rs 1.26 crore on October 13 and the daily sale recorded on October 20 was Rs 1.02 crore.

For KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena, achieving one-crore mark in November, is really exceptional. "It was a common trend in the past that after the festival month of October, the sale of Khadi India outlets dipped. But, it was the repeated calls of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote Khadi, now the people are preferring the signature fabric of India on all occasions," he said.

"The response of Modi Jackets and Kurtas can be understood that at least 200 pieces of them are being sold on average daily at each of the seven Khadi India outlets across the nation, including Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhopal, Mumbai and Ernakulam, which is 1400 pieces daily," he further added.
