Kolkata hosts India's biggest aesthetic surgery conference
India's largest ISAPS course, with a workshop and conference, was held in Kolkata from January 24 - 27, 2019. Delegates from all over the country and abroad including Dr Paraskevas Kontoes, MD, PhD, President/Fellow and Founder, ISAPS attended this academic feast.
Besides him, doctors of international repute like Dr Nimrod Friedman, Dr Gianluca Campiglio, Dr Kai Kaye, Dr Marcos Sforza, Dr Cemal TG Senyuva, Dr Carlos Del Pino Roxo, addressed the conference as faculty and shared their expertise with the Indian aesthetics surgery medical community.
The faculty also demonstrated the young plastic surgeons of India the art of their surgical expertise during a live operative workshop on January 24, at S.E Railway Hospital, Garden Reach. The idea was that the patients need not travel abroad for their high-end surgeries and get the facilities and expertise right here in India and by trained Indian doctors.
It is to notice that India is one of the largest countries in the world of patients requiring aesthetic surgery. But there is a shortage of trained doctors to cater to the ever-increasing demand.
Eminent cricketer and ex Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly inaugurated the event in the presence of eminent cricketer and Bengal cricket team mentor Arun Lal and Derek O'Brien {M.P).
The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) is a global society of 103 countries with over 3500 members worldwide.
