Rain, light cold winds make a perfect weather for little romantic things. But for many, the wedding bells start ringing and while wedding arrangements are made, the main question remains: how do I carry myself in this humid weather, wearing all the heavy accessories and clothes? Don't worry, some of the top designers who are participating in an ultimate bridal exposition – Mine N Yours Wedding Show 2017, curated by Harpreett Singh – on August 30 and 31 at The Grand, Vasant Kunj, have rolled out a few tips for the groom and bride.
Designer Manish Arora has suggested a few do's and don'ts for the monsoon brides:
Do's:
Opt for a light weight comfortable trousseau since you'll have to carry it throughout the day.
Style your outfit interestingly instead of being boring and conventional.
Choose the colour scheme wisely so that it compliments your skin tone.
Make sure your jewellery, hair and makeup compliments your outfit in the best way possible.
Wear tonnes of hath phool, kaleeray and bangles.
Dont's:
Blindly follow magazine trends. You'll feel great to be innovative on your special day.
Forget to first choose your bridal lehenga and then build the rest of the wardrobe around it.
Focus only on the frontal look. Drape your dupatta perfectly so that you look gorgeous in all profiles.
Overdo your look by over accessorizing impulsively around the face and head.
Wear a watch or carry a clutch.
Meanwhile designers Arjun and Anjalee Kapoor have some quirky advice for the groom:
Do's:
In terms of fabrics, men should go for a lot of linen and breathable Benarasi blended fabric.
In terms of style, they should opt for constructed waistcoats with kurtas and churidars.
An embroidered stole gives a lift to your wedding ensemble.
Monsoon is all about fun and bright colours. Opt for bright pop of colours.
Classic Bandhgalas with chrest motifs and floral ornamentation in jackets is trending this season.
Go for a coordinated outfit for the bride and groom to add oomph on your wedding day.
Dont's:
Velvet is a big no this season due to humidity.
Heavy jacquards and brocades are to be avoided at all cost.
Avoid heavy jewellery with your wedding attire. Instead opt for a sophisticated Kalgi.
