Rainy season is a welcome change from the sweltering heat. But we must also prepare for the monsoon with certain wardrobe changes. You love the rains or you hate them, but you can't ignore them. While numerous songs have been written about singing in the rain, the monsoon season can actually dampen your style.
Most women have to give up on their fashion choices and put convenience before style. However, we are here with our list of monsoon fashion must-haves for every woman. This monsoon, style effortlessly with some tips given by our fashion experts:
Brighter you wear more better it would be
Fashion designer Rhythm Goyal recommends "Bright and fluorescent colours like lime, fuchsia and turquoise would look good during this weather. If bright colours are not your cup of tea, you can opt for slightly muted tones of peach, cherry and mango."
Choose your bell-bottoms in a darker shade to avoid stains and watermarks of muddy water rain.
White is a strict no. The whites of summer must go to the back of the wardrobe as the safest colour pick is completely useless during the rains. Unless you want a little peek-a-boo, whites and your sheer fabrics are strictly not advisable during the monsoon.
Say No to denims and knitwear, suggests designer Reynu Taandon. Talking of fabric, go for cotton or synthetic as they dry up quickly.
Cut it short and enjoy the rains better. Wear skirts, knee length midis, and dresses.
Try out cool and easy hairdos and go for ballerina buns, side ponytail or messy buns.
Replace your high heels with rubber flip flops or acetate sandals. Try acetate pumps for classy night outs. Shoes that are easily washable, preferably sneakers, should be worn during the monsoons.
Forget the basic black umbrella; try frilly edges, polka dots, bows or animal prints to lift your mood.
