Driven by passion

Apart from working in three web shows in the last two years, Ananditaa Singh has also featured in the much popular song '6 Pack Band 2.0' by Mika Singh, starring Tiger Shroff

Consistently working in different web shows like Zoya Akhtar's 'Inside Edge', Ashima Chibber's 'Untag', and the recently launched ALTBalaji's 'Bekaaboo', Ananditaa Singh seems to have become the digital queen by now. The actress says that acting has always been her passion.

Not only this, she has also featured in the song '6 Pack Band 2.0' by Mika Singh, starring Tiger Shroff.

Ananditaa Singh, who became a known face of the industry in quite a less time, talks to Millennium Post about 'Bekaaboo', her character in the show, her journey in the industry and future plans.

Tell us something about your character in the show? How is it different from the other roles you have done in the past?

I am playing a character named 'Tina', who initially is shown as a weak woman taking a lot of abuse from novelist Kiyan (Rajeev Siddhartha), but later gets to show her confident self.

Yes, indeed this role is very different. This character has got so many layers to it, so many shades. I have always got different characters, crazy, glamorous, etc. But this is the first time I have played a demure girl.

Since the time you entered the industry, you have been doing one or the other project. How does it feel to be accepted by the audience and the industry in such a way?

To be honest, I really feel blessed. This kind of acceptance by the audience has given me many platforms on which I have been constantly working and growing as an actor. Also, I believe that it has even given me a reason to believe that I have the potential to do better.

What's more important to you the role, the medium, or the project?

As an actor, you can't choose just one factor when you sign a project. Every project has a different priority. For me, it is an amalgamation of a lot of factors that lead me to do the project. The character, the plot, the plausible results, and so many other things come to mind when I am deciding whether to take the project or not.

Do you feel that sometimes a project does well only because of the actor or director who is involved in it?

No, absolutely not. I feel that it is a teamwork. A project is made well only when the entire team...the cast and crew... is in sync to deliver the best product.

There needs to be coordination from the nascent stage of writing to the last stage of post-production. And that's how you get the desired outcome.

With so much popularity and stardom coming your way, how do you balance the personal and professional life?

Being a star has changed a lot of things, but my basic life remains the same. I wake up around 6 am, wrap up my meditation, workout and do other chores. And then head for the day's work – auditions, meetings.

Also, my friends in Mumbai play a big role in balancing my life.

With the pace you have been moving, where do you see yourself in next 5 years?

Acting has always been my biggest passion. I just hope that everything moves in the right direction as it has ever been – since I started modelling in the initial phase of my career.
