Delhi becomes 'favourite Indian city'

Delhi won the award for 'favourite Indian city' at the eighth edition of 'Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Travel Awards'. The ceremony was held at The Lodhi, New Delhi November 29, in the presence of industry leaders, influencers and recognised names from the travel and tourism sector including the government bodies. Sudhir Sobti, Chief Manager (PR & Publicity) received the award on behalf of Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), Government of Delhi.
Like every year, the Readers' Travel Awards were chosen through a readers' voting process spanning two months sans any nominations and recognises the best in the travel industry across hotels, destinations, airlines, spas, and more. Delhi has won the award for the same category in the past few years. The Readers' Travel Award 2018 winners will be featured in Condé Nast Traveller India's milestone 50th, December 2018 — January 2019 issue.
Present on the occasion, Divia Thani, Editor, Condé Nast Traveller India said, "Year after year, we have seen the participation and enthusiasm of our Condé Nast Traveller readers' voter base increase significantly. The Readers' Travel Awards are a barometer of what the discerning, affluent Indian traveller looks for and appreciates when he or she travels. In the past year Delhi has been bestowed with Best Destination Leadership Award (for the first rank in the fifth edition of WTTCII – Hotelirate State Ranking Survey 2017) by the World Travel and Tourism Council India (WTTC), 'Favorite Shopping Destination' by Lonely Planet India and exceptionally creative publication (Crystal category) for its Calendar 2018 promoting Delhi as a film shooting destination by Public Relations Council of India (PRCI).
