Cookin' Nanta: A non-verbal Korean comedy
Korean Cultural Centre India, Embassy of the Republic of Korea will be presenting the traditional rhythm and pulsating beat of Korea 'Cookin' Nanta', a non-verbal musical play which will be held at Siri Fort Auditorium on November 13.
The play comically portrays episodes in a kitchen of a restaurant while using Korea' traditional rhythm with contemporary music to create familiar sound for an International audience and helps immerse into an unforgettable experience. The show has been showcased in India several times as a shorter version (30 mins), but for the very first time, it will be showcased as a full show (90 mins).
It was created by Director Song Seung-hwan in 1997, who was also the executive creative director of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
The internationally acclaimed non-verbal show has been performed for more than 20 years in 314 cities of 38 countries across the globe and has entertained more than 10 million audiences, regardless of age. It has achieved great success in UK, Germany, even at Broadway in New York.
The grand tour co-organised and supported by Korea Foundation is creating new Korean waves and introducing high level performing art from Korea.
The non-verbal play will be touring five cities in India: Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi. After the Delhi show, they will perform at the Royal Opera house, Mumbai on November 20 and 21.
