Bihar Utsav evokes great response in Delhi

Organised to mark the occasion of Bihar Foundation day, this festival showcases rich and diverse cultural heritage of the state

Bihar Foundation Day is celebrated every year on March 22. To mark the occasion, Department of Industry, Government of Bihar has organised 'Bihar Utsav 2019' and 'Handloom and Handicrafts Exhibition cum Sale' at INA, Dilli Haat. The 15 days long festival, which started on March 16, will go on until March 31.

At the venue, one can spot multicoloured stalls featuring Madhubani painting and sculptures, elegant jute art, jute bags, handmade Bhagalpuri shawls, bed sheets, Siki products, Jute products like Jute jewellry, Tikuli Art, Nepura silk of Nalanda, famous handloom bed sheets of Biharshar, and saris with applique work. A visitor could purchase ethnic lakh bangles with Madhubani painting printed on it.

Apart from this, food stalls featuring a menu of mouth watering Bihar cuisine including Litti choka, Anarasa, makhna kheer, Belgrami are attracting foodies. To give a visual treat to visitors, there are replicas of historical monuments at the venue. Another highlight of the festival will be cultural programs and musical evenings on March 22, 23 and 24, at INA Dilli haat.

The Utsav has been organised in collaboration with BIADA (Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority) and showcases the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Bihar. Official inauguration of this festival will be held on March 22, on the occasion of Bihar Foundation Diwas.
