A vibrant depiction of landscapes and nature

Delhi College of Arts is organising a solo exhibition by artist Amita Prithviwasi from March 2 – 7, 2019 at All India Art and Craft Society (AIFACS).The art show titled 'Anterman', will be inaugurated by Adwaita Gadanayak, Director General, National Gallery of Modern Art on March 1.

The collection which will be displayed at the show is a mix of earthen shades, contrasting colors, painted upon the canvases and sheets, portraying Amita's understanding of surroundings and the innate calming nature of everything that envelopes us. Through her paintings, the artist tries to bring forth her interpretation of the connection between the inner conscious mind and universe that one can draw energy from when the focus is right.

Talking about the new collection which is a vibrant depiction of landscapes and nature, the artist says: "All my work define the concept of focus and are a way of meditation. I have attempted to bring the consciousness of my being to my soul."

Dwelling into digital painting for a fairly long time Prithviwasi decided to explore the terrains of manual painting and here she is presenting her inner state of calmness using acrylic on canvas. And, it is quite visible in her works that her choice of colours is vivacious; she draws her inspiration from bright and bold colours and weaves them around the earthiness of natural tones to give her artworks gravity and substance. The exhibition is open for all.
