Father-son duo held for killing youth

 A father-son duo has been arrested for the alleged murder of a youth who was <g data-gr-id="15">suspectedly</g> involved in an intimate relationship with the only daughter in their family. The youth was allegedly hacked to death at his residence, on June 20, in Outer Delhi’s Nihal Vihar area, not very far from the house of the accused, police said on Thursday.  

The accused were arrested as Mahender Singh Kataria (66) and his son Bharat Kataria (36), both property dealers in outer Delhi. The victim was identified as Sushil, who was allegedly attacked with an axe, later recovered by the police. His body was later dumped at a secluded spot nearby, said Vikramjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer). He further said that Bharat Kataria is the father and Mahender Kataria is the grandfather of the woman who was reportedly in a relationship with Sushil. They confessed to the crime during questioning and told the police that they took the step only when the youth did not pay heed to their repeated warnings, asking him to stay away from Bharat’s daughter.
