Father-son duo held for double murder

Two persons have been arrested by the police for allegedly shooting dead two labour contractors in broad daylight at Central Delhi’s Rajender Nagar area on May 14, police said on Friday.

The accused have been identified as Lallu Ram (55) and his son Pawan (24), both residents of Rajender Nagar. They reportedly told the police that they had a personal enmity with one of the accused, Ramcharan, and the other — Ramcharan’s associate Lakhan Lal — sustained a bullet injury accidentally as he was standing close to Ramcharan, said a police official.

According to the police, <g data-gr-id="23">Lallu</g> held a grudge against Ramcharan since his younger son Udai died in an accident on his way back from a birthday party at Ramcharan’s house on December 26, 2014. A case under Sections 279 and 304A was registered in this regard. After the incident, <g data-gr-id="24">Lallu’s</g> wife also left the house and permanently shifted to her parent’s place. <g data-gr-id="25">Lallu</g> held a grudge against Ramcharan and held him responsible for the whole episode.

“The central district of Delhi Police constructed a special team to solve this case and input was received that <g data-gr-id="17">Lallu</g> and Pawan had fled to Allahabad allegedly after committing the crime. A team was sent to Allahabad and the father-son duo were apprehended,” said Paramaditya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central).
