Delhi Police arrested two persons including father of a 10-year-old boy, Mohd Aman, who was allegedly kidnapped for a ransom of Rs 7 lakh in North-east Delhi’s Seemapuri area. The child went missing on April 12 and the first ransom call came on April 17.
The boy’s father, Ayub, wanted to take revenge over one Mehandi Hassan who was his rival. He was also neck deep in debt for which he needed quick money. For this, Ayub planned to frame Hassan in a false case. He sent his son to his nephew’s place in UP and asked Tajim (his nephew) to make ransom calls to Ayub’s wife. For this, new SIM cards, mobile phones were bought with fake IDs.
The whole plan was to frame Hassan, Ayub’s rival, in a false case.
According to the police, on April 12, Mohd Aman, alias Kaif, was kidnapped. Five days later, a call was made by the kidnappers to Kaif’s mother based on which police swung into action.
“Three teams were formed to investigate the matter. One looked at the technical surveillance, other monitored the behaviour of the child’s family and relatives while the third looked after the search operations. It was during technical analysis of the call details of Ayub that the team found that the person who made ransom call had called one more person named Hassan several times.
The ID used to purchase SIM was also analyzed. SIM vendor and Anil in whose name the SIM was purchased were also interrogated,” said an investigating officer, privy to the investigation.
Ayub wanted to settle terms with Hassan as they were having disputes owing to some illicit relationship. Based on this, raids were conducted at various places in the national Capital, Bijnaur, Moradabad, Sambhal and Ghaziabad to trace the child. But the relatives, with whom the child was kept, went on to shift the child from Mubarakpur (Bijnaur) to Umri Kala (Moradabad) to Barhayi. Finally, Aman was recovered by the team from Umri Kala.
