In a shameful incident, the city police arrested Amit Kumar Rampal (the father of a kidnapped minor) and a carpenter (who was known to the father), both of whom were conspiring and planning a fake case of kidnapping of his seven-year-old daughter.
Rampal, who was working as a caretaker at a plot, had filed an FIR in Sector 56 police station on February 12 when he faked about his daughter being missing. According to the previous FIR, the father said that his daughter as usual had gone to her school but didn’t return home.
Following the father’s complaint and looking at the sensitivity of the case, the police had immediately formed a team of officers to nab the accused. Soon after the FIR was registered, the police got a tip-off from an informer about the accused’s location.
The police arrested the accused from his room in Preet Vihar area of Delhi and also found the girl in his possession. The accused identified as Raju (21) was working as a labourer near Rampal’s house. After the arrest, the police had taken both Raju and the minor into custody for separate investigation.
The initial level of investigation revealed that Rampal had made a fake plan to kidnap his daughter so that he could collect money from people as a form of sympathy in this case. It was also revealed that Rampal and Raju had decided to divide the money equally among them.
Hearing about his shameful move, the police soon arrested Rampal and brought both of them in front of the magistrate. Both the accused have been arrested and an FIR has been registered against them under Sections 420 and 360 B of the Indian Penal Code.
