A 32-year-old farmer tried to hang himself by throwing a rope over a tree trunk near Kerala Bhawan at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi district on Monday afternoon. The man, identified as Prashant Deshmukh, has been detained at the Connaught Place police station and will be released soon, said a senior Delhi Police official.
According to the police, at around 1 pm, policemen posted at the picket near Kerala Bhawan saw Deshmukh throwing a rope over a tree few metres away from Kerala Bhawan.
