Farmer takes bullet in abdomen yet foils loot attempt

A farmer in Greater Noida displayed immense courage and grit as he battled bullets in his abdomen and not only foiled a loot attempt but also managed to apprehend one of the criminals. Police said that the farmer, along with his nephew, saved Rs 16 lakh which he had withdrawn from a local bank for his daughter’s marriage. The victim was later admitted to a hospital where his condition was stated to be critical. Police said that the farmer, Jagat Singh, was on his way to Dadri from Greater Noida area on Thursday evening when two bike-borne assailants hit their bike.
The victims, who had kept the money in a bag inbetween the seat, tried to escape but the assailants fired at them. Although one of the bullets pierced Jagat’s abdomen, both resisted their attempt. The victims fought with the attackers for few minutes forcing one of them to surrender. Passers-by informed the police and senior police official reached the spot. Jagat was immediately admitted to Kailash Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.
