Farmer beaten to death by robbers in Chitheda village

A farmer was beaten to death by robbers when he resisted their attempt to loot his house in Chitheda village, police said on Saturday.
Robbers had struck at Sant Ram’s house on Friday night while he was sleeping in veranda with his wife Suresh. His two sons and daughter in law were sleeping inside. On hearing noises, he wake up and confronted robbers, who beat him and his family members with sticks, police said.
They said Ram received grave injuries and died on the spot. The robbers later looted his house and decamped with cash, jewellery and other valuables.
