Believe it or not but three persons were thrashed and shot at by unknown assailants as they were not allowed to break the branches from a Neem tree in South-east Delhi’s Jamia Nagar area. The incident took place on Wednesday morning when four men barged into the house of one Shahbuddin in Jamai Nagar. They climbed up a Neem tree that was inside his residential premise. When he came to know that a few men are trying to break the branches from the tree, he instructed them not to. Few minutes later, his relatives — Liyakat and Noorjahan — also joined the voice of Shahbuddin and opposed the act.
All of them jumped from the tree and had a heated argument with all three of them. The argument turned violent and the accused thrashed them before escaping from the house. Meanwhile, Shahbuddin made a PCR call and a team reached the spot but did not register any case.
“In the late hours of Wednesday, at around 8.45 pm, they returned along with few more persons. This time, they came with pistols and sticks. They knocked the door of Shahbuddin and when he opened the door, they shot at him. Hearing gunshots, Liyakat and Noorjahan also came out and they were also shot at,” Shahbuddin told police. When the cops reached the spot, they found more than half a dozen of empty cartidges of 3.15mm bore pistol. Meanwhile, two gunshot marks were noticed on a shutter of a shop near the house. All the victims were rushed to the hospital where they are being treated. Meanwhile, CCTV cameras are being scanned to get some clues about the culprits. A case under the charges of attempt to murder has also been registered.
