Failure to repay Rs 70,000 loan claims 25-year-old’s life

A 25-year-old man was killed in an attack by the four people, including two juveniles, over a dispute triggered by the non- payment of borrowed money.

‘Ishtakhar, a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district, died while his father-in-law Jamil (60)and his brother-in-law Umed Alam (30) were injured in an attack with knives and sticks outside their house at Rahaula area in west Delhi on Wednesday morning,’ said additional commissioner of police V. Renganathan.

Out of the four attackers, two juvenile brothers have been apprehended while their elder brother and father are still absconding, Renganathan said.

Police said the attacker’s family,a butcher by profession, had borrowed Rs 70,000 from someone with the help of Jamil.

For the  past few months, they refused to return the borrowed money.

The families had had an  argument over the borrowed money several times prior to this incident.

‘Ishtakhar received injuries in his abdomen and was declared dead on arrival in a hospital. Jamil and Alam are recuperating in the hospital,’ the officers said.

A team has been formed to nab absconding attackers, officer added.
