Failed in love, 22-year-old student from Afghanistan commits suicide

A 22-year-old Delhi University student, hailing from Afghanistan, allegedly committed suicide on Sunday by hanging himself from a ceiling fan inside his rented accommodation.
The incident was reported from Model Town area in north Delhi around 11.30 am.
Abdul Hamid was pursuing graduation in computer science from Hansraj College of Delhi University, police said, adding that he was depressed after a failed love affair. Police said a suicide note written in Urdu language was found inside his room. In the one page note he wrote a poem on love.
‘Hamid further wrote that he was going to commit to suicide as he has failed in love,’ according to police.
Hamid was a third year student. His family members have been informed, they said. Hamid’s body was spotted by his landlord who had come to meet him. He was hanging from the ceiling fan with a bed sheet, said police.
