Acting on a complaint, cops have solved a case of extortion in the Ashok Vihar area of north-west Delhi. All the four accused have been arrested.
On 5 April, the complainant, Sanjeev Kanwar, reported that he had received an extortion call, asking him to pay an amount of Rs. 1 crore. The accused allegedly threated to kill him, if he didn’t pay the money. Kanwar, a factory owner, filed a case with the police after which a team was constituted to nab the extortionists.
On investigation, the police found the involvement of an insider, Vijay, who used to work in Sanjeev's factory. The plot had been hatched by all four accused.
