Ex-vigilance inspector gets three years RI in graft case

The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Dhanbad (Jharkhand) has convicted <g data-gr-id="12">Yogeshawar</g> Pathak, former Vigilance Inspector and Sushil Chandra Tiwari, then Area Sales Manager of BCCL, Dhanbad and sentenced them to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 10,000 each in a bribery case. 

 CBI had registered a case on January 3, 2015 under sections 120-B of IPC & Sec. 7 & 13(2) r/w 13 (1)(d) of PC Act, 1998, against Pathak and Tiwari on a complaint alleging demand of bribe of Rs 4000 from Complainant for showing official favour in a vigilance matter and no further harassment.  

 In a separate case, the Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, CBI Cases, Dehradun (Uttrakhand) has convicted Sunil Kumar Sharma, then Senior Technical Assistant “A”, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing and sentenced him to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs10,000.
