Ex-MoS Katheria likely to be appointed BJP general secy

Political observers feel that in view of the upcoming Assembly polls in five states, the party has taken this decision as Katheria represents the backward Jatav caste.

After an overwhenlming win in Assam and making a mark in West Bengal and Kerala, the BJP has taken the caste-based appeasement policy to get rid of political deportation in Uttar Pradesh.

Katheria, an MP from Agra, is among the five ministers, who have been dropped from the Union Cabinet. The PM took the decision of dropping them after reviewing their work. Also, Katheria is known for his controversial remarks and unapologetic attitude.

A fortnight ago, he ghad said at a gathering at the Lucknow University that there would be “saffronisation of education and the country” which, he suggested, was being done because it was “beneficial” for the country. The minister faced a lot of flak from the Opposition over this remark.
