Delhi Police Special Cell which had recently arrested four persons of Sunil Rathi for freeing Bhura have told the investigators that they have hatched the planning at the office of Rambir Shokeen in outer Delhi. After this shocking revelation, Delhi Police have shared the input with Baghpat police who later took the custody of the accused persons.
“During interrogation, the accused, identified as Samarpal, Prince, Saddam and Ravi Kumar, revealed that in early December Ravi along with other accused had planned the conspiracy at the office of Shokeen. For the same, we have summoned him to join the investigation within seven days, else arrest warrant would be issued against him,” J K Sahi, SSP Baghpat told Millennium Post. However, Rambir Shokeen could not be contacted.
It is important to mention that Shokeen is the uncle of Pankaj and Neeraj Bawana, members of Neeraj Bawana gang. In March, a raid was also conducted at Shokeen’s house to nab Pankaj but to no avail. However, Shokeen created a high-voltage drama and said that Delhi Police had illegally conducted a raid at his residence and when he asked them to show a search warrant, they misbehaved with him and his wife.
On 15 December, when Bhura was taken to Baghpat court for a hearing in a murder case, in the mid-way three persons intercepted the vehicle in which Bhura along with two members of the same gang were also sitting. The three persons, who were in a SUV, fired bullets in the air while the two accused sitting inside the vehicles sprayed pepper powder in the eyes of the policemen with them.
In the meantime, Bhura managed to escape. He fled with two AK-47 rifles and SLRs of the police team. Bhura is a member of the gang operated by Rathi, who is currently lodged in Pauri Jail in Uttarakhand. Bhaura, who has 40 cases registered against him in Delhi, Haryana, UP, Punjab and Uttrakhand, had been arrested on August 9 by Haridwar police. A reward of Rs 10 lakhs has also been announced on his arrest-- Rs 5 lakh by UP police and Rs 5 lakh by Uttarakhand police.
