In a bid to keep its image clean, an AAP candidate Vijandra Garg from Rajendra Nagar constituency filed a complaint on Friday against a retired ACP of Delhi police who allegedly tried to offer cash worth Rs five lakh on the pretext of donation to Aam Aadmi Party.
Garg alleged that Devendra Kumar, retired ACP of Delhi police has been calling him sinch the last three-four days and on Friday Kumar asked him to meet him briefly. ‘Being a responsible candidate of my party I meet all known and unknown people and hence agreed and to meet him on my way to Nairaina. However, on meeting him I found his behaviour suspicious and surprising as he started to forcibly offer a brown envelop to me telling repeatedly and loudly that it contains Rs 5 lakh which I should accept as party fund,’ said Garg.
He further said, ‘I refused the offer, it was a deliberate attempt to malign and tarnish my and my party’s image. He also might be carrying a spy camera to doctor a sting which can hamper my chances of victory into the upcoming election,’ said Garg.
