Ex-armyman, two others get 3 years for graft

Three people, including a former armyman, were on Friday sentenced to three years of imprisonment for misusing official passports and aiding in illegal migration.
M Suresh Babu, a former lance naik, and David A Johnson and Nagarajan were convicted by a special judge for CBI cases in a Saket court here.
The convicts were also fined Rs 56,000 each.
Following a complaint from the defence ministry, the CBI had registered a case against the accused in November 2007 under different sections of the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act.
The complaint had said that some armymen were misusing official army passports to facilitate illegal migration of other people to foreign countries.
