EOW detects DA worth Rs 9 cr amassed by two mining officials in Bihar

Bihar Police’s Economic Offence Wing (EOW) on Friday carried out search at 11 locations of two mining officials and detected disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of Rs nine crore amassed by them, a police officer said.
The mining development officer, Sheikhpura, Jhakari Ram has amassed ill-gotten wealth worth Rs 7 crore in his name and his wife’s name was found out during search at his residence in Patna and residence and office in Sheikhpura district by the EOW teams, Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Headquarters, Ravindra Kumar told reporters.
The EOW teams recovered Rs 1.64 crore cash and documents of deposits in banks worth Rs 2.44 crore, besides details of investments and movable and immovable properties in Patna, Kaimur, Varanasi and other places, he said.
